How to build a DIY Loft Bed for $75.
This DIY bed is made from 2×4 and 2×6 construction grade lumber. If you want to get some nicer boards and save a little money you can cut these down from 2×12 boards. The bed is straightforward to assemble after all the wood parts are cut. This loft bed is great for a kid’s room but can also be a dorm loft bed where it would really take advantage of the space in a small room. Get the DIY loft bed plans and build your own!

You're funny. 🙂 My husband and I are going to build two loft beds for our girls – and they are going to help us. 🙂 I just purchased the plans and I saw a parts list but no materials list. Are you able to provide a materials list so I make sure we purchase the right amount of lumber? (I sent you an email just now as well.)

Your making it so much more complicated then it has to be! I think it’s just worth it to buy 2x4s, if you take your time and know how to check the boards then you won’t have any issues.
What type of paint did you use? Oil or latex?
Hi. super interested in building this for my 2 boys. Are you using untreated wood? I can't find any untreated here in Hawaii except clear fir, which is really expensive.

I want to build this as a full size low loft bed, but I want an open end footboard, how do I build that, measurements for all supplies involved?
What would the measurements be for a full size low loft bed(Height from from below mattress to floor needs to be 32 inches)? Measurement a for all wood pieces and the sizes of all nails/ screws, nuts, washers, etc. ?

Turned out great. I’ve built a few of these. They’ll get years of use from it.
Excellent video, like all of yours are. Question when you pocket holed the corners my understanding is the angle that the screws went in to the end board are weaker than if you would have done it from the outside. I hope you know what I mean. Could you comment on this? Many thanks and I wish I had seen this when my kids were little as this would have been a great project.

Behr ultra primer/paint $35-40
That amount of screws alone is easily another 1/3 the cost of the build.
I definitely hit my head on the fan in my childhood room getting onto the top bunk many times 😂
