Why Toy Unboxing and Other Kid Videos Get So Many Views Explained

Toy Unboxings and other kid videos like Nursery Rhymes like the Finger Family or live action skits with characters such as Elsa and Spiderman are a very weird class of videos on youtube. They can sometimes get hundreds of millions of views and it seems pretty baffling, but even this phenomena can be explained.

Some channels that are really successful and get billions of views are Ryan ToysReview, LittleBabyBum, Toy Monster, Toy Freaks, and Masha and the Bear.

These channels are getting billions of views spread out among there many videos, many of which are pretty indistinguishable from one another. Their best videos get hundreds of millions of views, but often there are so many dislikes on these videos.

In order to understand why kid videos get so many views you need to realize that there are millions of kids on youtube swiping around randomly and they don’t use the website like adults. They will click things by accident and have short attention spans which means they click on even more videos than adults.

In the video I go over much of the data I collected which confirms that kid views last much less time than regular views, and I also expose the fact that these toy channels are doing the best on youtube since they are the channels gaining the most amount of views per month, even more than channels with lots of subscribers.

If you are looking to start a toy channel for some reason, this video could also be for you since I go into what makes a toy channel successful and how you could get the youtube algorithms to work for you. This was not the purpose of the video but while making it I realized that some of this could be good advice for running a toy channel.

If you’ve ever wondered why do toy videos get so many views then this is the video for you.

Article I wrote an article that covers stuff I left out of the video:

  1. Could you please shed some light on this, my inquiry is that if people actually make money off of doing these kids videos, I mean they all seem different, and to maybe do this, you would have to get different video data, like type of video, is it only animation, or real kids talking to the camera playing with toys, etc etc, I wanted to know if I could make money off of YouTube making kids videos, I wanted to make video animations but I don't wanna jump to the wagon and spend lot of time and then get nothing from it, cuz I feel there are thousands literally of kids videos like these, so if so how they do it? Do they get money from. Ads? Is it viable?

  2. I don't get this bullshit at all! Kids content on YouTube seriously went downhill ever since 2015. Back in my day, kids were watching videos that contained bad language, scary music and inappropriate material. And guess what? They were perfectly fine with that stuff! Here are what kids channels today are obsessed over.

    1. Poop: Why this? YouTube Poops are clearly better than videos that are literally about poop! I find feces to be very disgusting and if you find that funny, you have shit taste! And I mean that literally! >:(

    2. Spiderman and Elsa: The two characters would never be together in real life. Besides Frozen is a dead horse! It is very disturbing to see a video thumbnail of Spiderman going to stab needles into Elsa's belly when she is pregnant! ;O

    3. Finger Family Videos: This is one of the most cancerous things on planet Earth! I saw one on BabyFirstTV with Harry the Bunny and his family and it made me cringe so hard! 🙁

    4. Crying: Why do people like to hear babies and kids cry for stupid reasons all the time? It's an ear bleeding noise that irritates anyone with sensitive hearing like me. Jaxen Ross (who is on the autism spectrum) once ran a Crybabies doll over with a lawnmower and I praised him for doing the right thing! Hope all of you that like hearing babies and kids crying can go fucking die for all I care! I'm going to be childless by choice and I will fucking LOVE living my life without children! >:)

    5. Reviewing Toys: The most common thing in kids channels nowadays. You see a stupid spoiled brat who is very excited about a toy so he or she opens said toy and talks about it for 1 video, then tosses it aside and never plays with it again. How stupid! I have played with my favorite toys for several years before they were tossed aside off camera! Kids should not act like this. One kid in particular named Ryan Kaji is the richest kid on YouTube. All he does is make stupid repetitive videos about toys on his channel RyanToysReview which serves no meaning to society. He even got his own show on Nickelodeon called Ryan's Mystery Playdate which is so predictable and the challenges are way too easy for him. I once saw an episode where a police officer was his mystery playdate and I was like, "Why can't the cop arrest Ryan for making a stupid game show on Nick?" Besides, police officers do not play with children! That's pedophilia, so he will definitely get his ass fired for this crap! >:(

  3. My youngest cousin (He is only 3) always watches this kid videos in his Ipad and makes gibberish comments by playing with the Ipad keyboard. He always gets nightmares everyday where he becomes a finger puppet in a Finger Family video. I dont like this type of vids because of colorful everything.

  5. What I'm curious about is the actors in the videos that dress up as pregnant elsa or naked spiderman lmao. How miserable and broke do they have to be to sign on for a job like that, and how do they not think twice about it ethically??

  6. Call it personal bias, but this irks me. They don't post quality content. They shove a bunch of colorful garbage all over the place to abuse the algorithm. And the algorithm is like a drug addict, needing more abuse and tag indulgence to function. That's why honest channels who refuse to do it often get the shaft, while the crappy, spamming, a using, and occasionally illegal videos are monetized so much.

Oh yeah. Making the algorithm shift from quality to length was a bad move as well…

  7. That comparison.

    Well, it has some issues.

Also, let me just put up my cybersubjective guard measures

    There

Ok, gaming videos are reviewing works of art, amazing concepts, and the outright bizarre. These toy channels are literally, LITERALLY, the same thing with no art or effort. No amazing concept, good scare, or experience of hilarity. I think these kids just do it because

    a) it's colorful

    b) it's like how a baby can play peekaboo for such s long time and never recognize the pattern

  8. Here's a fun game. Wait until your wife, or girlfriend is sound asleep…sneak into the room and whisper slowly into her ear "daddy finger…daddy finger…where…are…you…". You'll want to do it as creepy as possible.
