  1. What if its just paying attention and soaking in what people in your family are saying? I tend to get lost in my own thoughts while they're communicating with me. I also forget things they had just answered to me after the question I asked.

  2. I take a non-stimulant called Strattera because stimulants makes anxiety worse which is usually associated with ADHD. I've been trying to react unemotionally but its hard when dealing with a 4 year old boy who isn't responding to you when you call their name 100x…😆

  3. It is a great video, but a little bit of less neuroanatomy and more practical advice would be great. anatomy is uselessly distracting

  4. So I’m a nanny and the almost 6-year old seems to have ADHD. But he has huge tantrums if he gets a consequence. Even if it comes in the form of choices, so that he has to actively choose the consequence. He screams at me and often will block me from leaving the room. His parents are trying really hard but I have zero strategies. I don’t know how to implement this since he has raging tantrums with the consequences. I am 55, a mom and grandma with ten years as an elementary substitute teacher and I’ve not seen anything like it. Any thoughts? Mom wonders if he’s high functioning aspergers, but I don’t know, because he can stop if his dad walks in the room.

  5. My 4 y.o brother watches youtube a lot and he is repeating words he said in cocomelon even in unrelevant situation. Its the same words over and over again like its automatic. When he is angry he screamed "johnny johnny" As if in the kids song, when he is walking he randomly said "hey kids" Or "byebye" Like the opening and closing of the video he usually watched. How to stop it, we already minimize his phone timee 😞😟

  6. For preview and review:

    1. given them a task they can handle
    2. leave them to it
    3. let consequences guide them while treating them with empathy
    4. assign the same task a few days later

    Our children are true blessings!

  8. Any parents out there with ADHD kids.. take this from me as a nearly 30 year old ADHD mama with her own kids.. have extra patience with your kids and try not to think for them.. my mother was amazing but she did so much for me.. it made everything worse.. now I'm learning to think for myself more but tricky. My mum did not want to 'label me' but I really wish I got support outside of school… (Would have been humiliated in school but I guess better to do better in exams) I could have taken some notes or asked to take work home to do with tutor or parent. I managed to teach myself (my parents were busy with work) so when I was 15 I studied for GCSES and got two! That may not sound like enough but because of my ADHD and with zero support I'm happy with that. 🎉

  9. Doctor Paul i hope this works for indigenous people who are hoping to be treated asap. going to a Developmental Doctor isn't easy as some people think.
1st: its price is not affordable.
2nd:. it is only available on private
    hospitals.
3rd: even if the patient has a charity and a
PWD card for discount. anyone needs
to pay any professional fees and
follow up chek ups/online check ups.
4th: anyone wants to live happiness with
    freedom.
5th: people with short span of learning are the most people who wants to study but difficult to write, read with instant comprehension. i hope teachers in public schools understands their situation normally. they have a right to live, speak and choose what they love. they should be love.

  11. Thank you Doc, this is really helping me after just watching a couple of your videos, my son started responding almost instantly…I stayed calm, started smiling and I could see his little brain go "say what now?" and then he chose to make his bed.
