  2. Hi Kayla! Can you please make a video on the books you read to Riley and Jackson…their favourites…how did you introduce books to them and get them involved to listen…
Also a video about Riley's night time routine.
Thank you in advance…lots of love from my 1 year old daughter and me❤

  3. Thanks Kayla for sharing! I love your organization system. I’ve been telling my husband for awhile that we need a system like this, so he’ll have to watch this video to see the big picture!

  4. These are some great ideas. Personally, I think that is too many toys for my home, but I work full-time and my kids are only home with me on nights and weekends. If I was a SAHM I would definitely have more toys for them and I like the system you have set up so all the toys get played with. Great video

  5. I was just starting to feel overwhelmed with toys and this video was so helpful. I have a toy rotation going myself, but I never thought of rotating bath toys. That’s such a cool idea! I also made myself a wish list of gifts for my kids based on some of the cool toys you showed us. Thanks!

  6. You're awesome! I've been following you since being pregnant with my boy (now 5 months). Also have a toddler girl. Thanks for being so real! I just recently reorganized my daughter's art supplies in one of those plastic organizers with drawers. Works great!

  7. Glad you all made it home safely. Toy rotation is crucial for children to continue playing with everything and being challenged by what they have. Toy hiding is also good when they get too much for the holidays or their birthdays and it is overwhelming. Then they simply throw everything everywhere and focus on nothing at all. It is too much for their brains to handle in their tender years while there is still such prodigious learning and development going on. Best to put a portion of the things aside to be brought out later. It does mean one has to triage the toys to be sure the ones that are not challenging and they will outgrow almost immediately get put out first, so they can be given away as soon as the child loses all interest. However, the Montessori-type longer learning toys that challenge them for a longer period of time and allow them use of their imaginations must be kept and rotated to allow their learning to flourish in the use of them. You are wise to do this and not to hoard because there are so many in need that it is wise to get rid of things as soon as they are no longer of use to your children. Thanks.

  8. You should look into the Montessori method ☺️ it’s focused on following the child through play, so for toy rotations you switch out the toys your child is not interested in and switch in toys that will encourage their current interests 🙂 it also encourages an open shelf like you are doing but with 1-2 toys per cube so as to not overwhelm the child

  10. I'm a Kindergarten teacher (who runs a play-based program), and the assortment of toys you have out for Riley (and now Jackson) is excellent! You've got fine and gross motor stuff, letters/numbers/shapes, building, pretend play, problem solving and puzzles, books, art and sensory activities, outdoor learning stuff — basically everything that I would have out and available in my classroom for my students to explore and use to learn! She'll be in a great position going into school in a few years, and it should help keep her entertained! And it's awesome that you're teaching her to clean up after herself.

  11. Hi Kayla! Can you make a video about how do you keep your kids toys clean? I have a baby same age as Jackson and always puts toys in his mouth and Im constantly worried that I want every toy that I rotate to be clean and safe to put on his mouth.. Thanks ❤️

  13. I love your videos! I have a 2 month old baby girl and have been following your journey and just love getting ideas and tips from you! She is also a horrible sleeper so it’s great to know I’m not alone, although you make it look SO easy! Your babies are the cutest & your videos are seriously an escape for me through all the chaos of having a newborn. Keep it up mama, you’re doing amazing!! ❤️❤️
